Meet Rachael
I’m a qualified and experienced teacher, tutor and mum of two, with a real passion for helping children grow in confidence and succeed in their learning.
With a background teaching and tutoring across a range of age groups, I’ve spent years supporting children to build strong literacy skills in ways that feel engaging, encouraging and achievable. Tutoring is something I truly love – there’s nothing better than seeing a child’s confidence grow as they begin to believe in their own abilities.
During my Master’s studies, I explored how digital tools can be used to increase student engagement and make learning more meaningful and motivating. This research became the inspiration behind creating this innovative approach to tutoring, combining high-quality teaching with creative, interactive lessons designed for today’s learners.
I’m passionate about making learning fun, inspiring and memorable through exciting themes, imaginative activities and engaging digital tools. In today’s modern world, children learn differently and I believe education should evolve with them, while still keeping the expert guidance and personal connection of a real teacher.
As both a teacher and a parent, I understand how important flexibility is for busy families. Which age groups are your lessons designed for?

Lessons are designed for children aged 5–7 and 8–12. Each age group has tailored content designed to challenge each particular learning need.
Can I use one account for more than one child?

Yes, you can add multiple children to your account, each with their own plan and progress tracked separately.
How does the subscription work?

The subscription unlocks modules sequentially, one per month. You can choose to purchase single modules individually instead of subscribing.
What's the difference between a subscription and a single module?

A subscription unlocks a new module each month automatically. A single module gives 30-day access to one module of your choice, with no ongoing commitment.
How is teacher feedback provided?

Every submission is reviewed by a qualified teacher. Detailed feedback is provided directly in your parent portal.
Can I cancel my subscription anytime?

You can cancel anytime through your parent portal. No lock-in contracts or cancellation fees. Your child will retain access until the end of the current billing period.
How does Skills Tutoring meet the needs of students with different abilities?

I design Skills Tutoring to support students of all abilities, from beginners to more advanced learners. My lessons are created to be accessible for every student while also providing opportunities for growth and challenge.
For students who are ready for more, I include optional challenge tasks within the writing section, as well as a challenge question in the reading section of each lesson. These activities encourage deeper thinking, strengthen comprehension skills, and help students further develop and refine their writing.
For students who need extra support, I include a word mat in each video lesson. This provides vocabulary suggestions, sentence starters, and punctuation prompts to guide students who may need help structuring their ideas or expanding their vocabulary.
This approach allows each student to learn at their own pace, giving them the confidence and support they need while also providing opportunities to challenge themselves when they are ready.
How is Skills Tutoring different from other online learning programmes?

Skills Tutoring is designed and created by me, a qualified and experienced primary school teacher. Every lesson is carefully planned to build confidence, creativity and key literacy skills in an engaging way.
The idea for Skills Tutoring was born from looking for something different for my own children – lessons that felt fun, creative and genuinely engaging while still building strong literacy skills. I wanted to create learning experiences children would look forward to, rather than something that simply felt like extra schoolwork.
Each lesson combines interactive activities, imaginative themes, reading and comprehension tasks, and structured writing opportunities to make learning meaningful and enjoyable.
A key feature of Skills Tutoring is the personalised feedback I provide on submitted writing tasks. This gives each child individual guidance and encouragement to help them improve, grow in confidence and feel proud of their progress.
Skills Tutoring offers the flexibility of self-paced online learning, combined with the care, expertise and support of teacher-designed lessons and real feedback. This helps children develop their skills in a fun and encouraging environment.
